The DAD LINK Keystone Jack Cat.6 FTP is a shielded RJ45 8P8C keystone module for Cat.6 structured cabling, with a foil screen and a metal body that carry the cable shield through to the faceplate or patch panel. DAD LINK supplies it across Iraq as the shielded counterpart to its Cat.6 UTP jack.
Specify FTP rather than UTP where the cabling shares containment with mains power, runs past lift motors, generators, variable frequency drives or radio equipment, or crosses a factory or hospital floor with heavy electrical noise. That describes a large share of Iraqi installations, from bank branch server rooms in Baghdad to industrial sites and hospital blocks in Erbil, where trays are shared and clean separation is not always possible. The shield only works if it is bonded: the screen must be continuous from the cable through the jack body to an earthed panel at one end, otherwise the assembly performs no better than UTP and can behave as an antenna.

Which jack do you need
Where there is no interference problem and no shielded cable in the run, the Cat.6 UTP keystone jack is the simpler and correct part. For 10 Gbps to 100 m, step up to the Cat.6A FTP keystone jack. Never mix shielded jacks onto unshielded cable or the reverse: a channel is rated by its weakest component. Terminate the far end into a shielded 24 port full-loaded patch panel so the earth path stays continuous.
