DAD LINK Fiber Optic OS2 SC-SC Simplex Patch Cord

The DAD LINK Fiber Optic OS2 SC-SC Simplex Patch Cord is a single mode jumper carrying one 9/125 um OS2 fiber, with a single SC connector at each end. DAD LINK supplies it to ISPs and network contractors across Iraq for single-strand and bidirectional links where a two-fiber duplex cord is not required.

Simplex is the right part whenever the optics send and receive on one strand. That covers BiDi transceivers and, most importantly for Iraqi operators, GPON and FTTH: a PON drop is single fiber by design, so every subscriber port on a splitter shelf and every OLT PON port is a simplex termination. An Erbil or Baghdad ISP building out FTTH will consume simplex cords at the head end between the ODF and the OLT, and again inside distribution boxes in the field. Using a duplex cord there wastes a fiber and doubles the cable bulk in an already crowded tray.

Which cord do you need

Count the fibers your optic needs before ordering. Two-fiber optics need the OS2 SC-SC duplex patch cord, which is the same fiber and the same connector in a two-strand assembly. Where the active equipment is LC rather than SC, use the OS2 LC-LC duplex patch cord. On the subscriber side these cords terminate into an FTTH 24 core optical fiber distribution box. On PON work confirm the polish: APC is the usual FTTH specification, and an APC endface must never be mated to a UPC one.
