The DAD LINK Fiber Optic OM1 LC-SC Duplex Patch Cord is a hybrid multimode jumper on 62.5/125 um OM1 fiber, terminated with an LC duplex connector at one end and an SC duplex connector at the other. DAD LINK supplies it throughout Iraq for sites where the switch side and the panel side use different connector families.

Mixed LC and SC ports are the normal condition in Iraqi buildings that have been extended more than once. The transceivers bought in the last few years are LC. The distribution frame, the older transport chassis or the media converter shelf installed alongside them is SC. Rather than stacking two cords and an adapter, which adds two more mated pairs to the loss budget, one LC-SC hybrid cord makes the crossing directly. A bank branch network in Baghdad or a campus block in Erbil being re-switched onto new hardware without re-terminating the frame is the standard case.

Which cord do you need

Check the core size before the connector. If both ends of your link are 62.5/125 um and both are LC, the straight OM1 LC-LC duplex patch cord is the simpler part. If both ends are SC, use the OM1 SC-SC duplex patch cord. If the link leaves the building, OM1 is the wrong grade entirely and you need the single mode OS2 LC-SC duplex patch cord on 9/125 um fiber.
