The DAD LINK Fiber Optic OM1 SC-SC Duplex Patch Cord is a two-fiber multimode jumper on 62.5/125 um OM1 glass with an SC duplex connector at both ends. DAD LINK supplies it to IT integrators and contractors across Iraq for patching legacy multimode plant at SC-terminated frames and panels.
SC is still the dominant port on optical distribution frames, older media converters and the transport equipment sitting in many Iraqi telecom rooms and government server rooms. Where the whole multimode link is SC end to end, an SC-SC duplex cord is the correct and simplest crossing: no adapters, no extra mated pairs, no mixed-ferrule assemblies to keep clean. A common placement in a Sulaymaniyah or Erbil facility is inside a rack where an ODF tray presents SC/UPC ports and a converter shelf below it presents the same, and the two are cross-connected without disturbing the terminated fiber.
SC-SC is right when both ends are SC and the plant is 62.5/125 um multimode. If the switch side has moved to LC optics, the OM1 LC-SC duplex patch cord makes the crossing in one part. If the link is single mode rather than multimode, the equivalent is the OS2 SC-SC duplex patch cord on 9/125 um fiber. To terminate the OM1 backbone that feeds these ports, splice in an OM1 UPC pigtail.
