The DAD LINK Fiber Optic OM1 LC-LC Duplex Patch Cord is a factory-terminated two-fiber multimode jumper built on 62.5/125 um OM1 glass, with an LC duplex connector at each end. DAD LINK brands and supplies it across Iraq for structured cabling and data centre patching work.
This is the cord you specify when the building already runs OM1. A large share of the multimode backbone installed in Iraqi universities, hospitals and government campuses is 62.5/125 um, and mixing 62.5 um and 50 um core sizes inside one channel costs optical budget at every junction. An OM1 LC-LC duplex patch cord keeps the patch layer on the same core size as the trunk while presenting the LC interface that current SFP and SFP+ transceivers expect. A typical placement in an Erbil server room: OM1 riser fiber lands on a 19 inch ODF, pigtails are fusion-spliced onto the bare fiber, and this cord crosses from the ODF port to the switch.
Stay on OM1 only to match an existing 62.5/125 um plant. If the far end presents SC ports rather than LC, the OM1 LC-SC duplex patch cord is the same fiber with one SC end. For a new multimode link inside a data centre row, do not specify OM1: use the OM3 LC-LC duplex patch cord on laser-optimised 50/125 um glass, which carries 10 Gbps to 300 m. To terminate the bare OM1 backbone fiber itself, fusion splice an OM1 UPC pigtail in the tray.
