The DAD LINK Socket 2 Port Face Layout (WPS-2P) is a two port network faceplate: a wall plate with two openings, each accepting a snap-in keystone jack, presenting two RJ45 outlets at a single cabling position. DAD LINK brands and supplies it in Iraq through authorized distributors.

Two ports per desk position is the standard commercial fit-out, and it is a cost decision rather than a technical one. Cable and labour are spent once, at first fix, while a second drop pulled later means lifting floor boxes or re-running trunking through an occupied office. Bank branches, government departments and the new office towers going up in Erbil specify two ports so a desk can take a workstation and a VoIP phone, an access point, or a second machine, with no further civil work.

Specification

  • Part number: WPS-2P
  • Ports: two
  • Module format: snap-in keystone openings, so the jack grade is chosen separately from the plate
  • Supplied as: faceplate only. Keystone jacks are ordered separately

How to choose

Use this plate for desk and workstation positions. Use the 1 port faceplate for fixed-device drops such as access points, cameras and printers, where a second port would never be used. Both plates take the same modules, so the grade decision belongs to the keystone jack: Cat.6 or Cat.6A, UTP or shielded FTP. At the other end of every drop the same jacks land in a 24 port unloaded patch panel. Terminate both ends to T568A or T568B, the same scheme throughout the building.
