The DAD LINK SC/UPC-SC/UPC Single Mode Duplex Adaptor is a passive fiber optic adapter, also called a bulkhead coupler, that holds two mated pairs of SC/UPC single mode connectors in one panel cut-out. It contains no electronics and needs no power: it simply aligns two SC ferrules nose to nose so light passes from one connector into the other. DAD LINK supplies it across Iraq, from Erbil and the Kurdistan Region to Baghdad, Sulaymaniyah and Duhok.
This is the workhorse adapter on Iraqi last-mile plant. On an ISP FTTH rollout the feeder fibers arrive at a distribution box, get spliced to pigtails, and each pigtail is presented on the front of the panel through an adapter like this one. Because it is duplex, one unit serves a transmit and receive pair, which is the normal presentation for a subscriber drop or a point-to-point link. SC remains the dominant connector on Iraqi FTTH infrastructure, so this SKU is the one most projects order by the tray.

How to choose
Match the connector family, the polish and the fiber mode on both sides. An SC adapter mates SC to SC only: it does not convert SC to LC. UPC mates to UPC and never to APC, because mating an angled endface against a flat one damages the ferrule. If you need a single mated position instead of two, order the SC/UPC single mode simplex adaptor. If the plant is multimode rather than single mode, the equivalent unit is the SC/UPC multimode duplex adaptor.
