The DAD LINK Fiber Optic SC/UPC-SC/UPC Single Mode Simplex Adaptor is a single-position fiber optic coupler that mates one SC/UPC single mode connector to another inside a panel cut-out. One unit equals one fiber presented. It is a passive component with no electronics, no power and no active alignment: the sleeve does the work. Simplex is the right format when fibers are presented one at a time rather than in pairs. How to choose
Count mated positions, not units. A panel presenting 24 fibers needs 24 positions: that is 24 simplex adapters, or 12 duplex units. Where fibers run as transmit and receive pairs, the SC/UPC single mode duplex adaptor halves the part count and the panel space.
