DAD LINK Fiber Optic LC/PC-LC/PC Multimode OM3 4 Core Adaptor

The DAD LINK Fiber Optic LC/PC-LC/PC Multimode OM3 4 Core Adaptor is a high density fiber optic coupler that holds four mated pairs of LC/PC multimode connectors in a single panel cut-out. Four positions in the space normally used by two is what makes it a 4 core unit. It is passive, needs no power, and simply aligns the ferrules so light crosses the joint. DAD LINK supplies it across Iraq, including Erbil, Baghdad and Sulaymaniyah.

Reach for it on multimode OM3 builds where the port count is high and the panel space is not. Typical cases in Iraq are a university campus distribution room aggregating several buildings on OM3, a hospital or government data centre running short-reach 10 Gigabit links between rows, and a telecom operator consolidating an existing multimode backbone into fewer rack units. Every populated position needs one mated pair, so a fully loaded 24 core multimode frame is six of these units rather than twelve duplex ones.

How to choose

Note the polish carefully. This unit is specified PC, not UPC. PC and UPC are both flat-family dome polishes and are mechanically compatible with each other, but neither mates with APC, which is angled. If your plant is APC, this is not the part. OM3 is laser-optimised multimode, conventionally a 50/125 um core, so keep multimode adapters on multimode plant and single mode adapters on single mode plant: mixing them adds avoidable loss at every joint.
