Power Cables
Power cables, also called IEC power cords, connect equipment to a wall socket, a rack PDU or a UPS. The code (C13, C14, C19, C6, C1) comes from IEC 60320 and describes the plug and inlet shape, not the cable. DAD LINK supplies them across Iraq in 1.8 m lengths with a British three pin or a European plug end, plus a C14 to C13 bridge cord for rack equipment.
How to choose a power cable
- Start at the equipment inlet. A C14 inlet (servers, switches, monitors, most PCs) takes a C13 cord. The wider C20 inlet on large UPS units takes C19. Power bricks take the clover C6; small class II inlets take C1.
- Then look at the wall. Iraqi buildings are mixed: some outlets are British three pin, others European two pin. Order the plug that matches the socket on site.
- Inside a rack, use a bridge cord. A C14 to C13 jumper runs from a C13 outlet on the PDU or UPS to the C14 inlet on the device, and saves tray space.
- Count cords before ordering. Every device needs one and dual supply servers need two, so the cabinet arrives complete.

Why it matters in Iraq: supply alternates between grid and generator, so any serious rack sits behind a UPS. That makes the C14 to C13 bridge the busiest cord in the country's server rooms: bank branch cabinets, ministry and university comms rooms, ISP POP sites carrying FTTH traffic, and new build offices in Erbil.
Pair these cords with a rack PDU from rack accessories, pick the enclosure in Racks, and read Server Rack Cooling and Cable Management Best Practices before routing the cabinet. Where the hardware supports it, Power over Ethernet removes the local cord entirely. Contact an authorized distributor in Erbil, Baghdad, Sulaymaniyah or Duhok for availability.
