How to choose a wall mount rack

• Depth first. The 600 x 450 mm frames suit patch panels, switches and NVRs. Move to 600 x 600 mm when a device is deeper or when patch cords need slack behind the rails.
• Height in U. A single switch plus a patch panel and a cable manager fits comfortably in 6U. Allow 9U or more once a second switch, a media converter or a small UPS is added.
• Welded or flat-pack. The MW-series arrives welded and ready to hang, which is faster on site. The MP-series ships flat-packed as separate covers, frame, back panel and side panels, which cuts freight cost and makes it easier to carry up stairs.
• Weight limit. Every wall mount unit here is rated 70 kg static load. Anything heavier, or any real server, belongs in a floor-standing cabinet.
• Door. Toughened glass doors are available plain, slanted-slot or round-hole arc, with hexagonal vented or plate steel alternatives, each with a small round lock.

Wall mount range

Panel thickness is 1.5 mm on the mounting profile, 1.2 mm on other panels and 1.0 mm on the side panels. Installation depth is adjustable and metal cable management is available as an option. Standards: ANSI/EIA RS-310-D, IEC 60297-3-100, DIN 41494 Part 1 and Part 7, with UL and RoHS.

Typical installations

In new-build offices in Erbil the 6U and 9U units are the volume sellers: one access switch, a 24-port patch panel and a router. Bank and government branch offices tend to specify 12U or 15U so a small UPS and an NVR fit in the same locked enclosure. Campuses use one wall rack per building riser, trunked back to a floor-standing core cabinet. Surveillance contractors take the 4U depth-450 unit at camera aggregation points where the wall is shallow.
